Foundations, Powders, Bronzer, Blush, and Highlight
IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Breakout
This is one of the first loose powders that I have ever tried. I have EXTREMELY oily skin and honestly, I cannot believe that I have been missing out on loose powders all my life! I have been using this to set my under eye, as well as dusting it over everywhere that I get oily (which is basically everywhere). This has been working great for me!
Tarte Shape Tape Matte Foundation
So….. this product was definitely a no from me. I was talking to one of the girls working at Ulta, and she suggested this foundation for my oily skin. However, as soon as I put it on my face, it separated and looked absolutely HORRIBLE. I tried it with a few different primers, I tried a different moisturizer, and I even tried it on my bare face. No matter what I did, I still got the same results. In the end, I ended up returning this foundation.
Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer
If you are just starting out using bronzer, I highly suggest this product! It blends beautifully, smells amazing, and just gives the prettiest bronzed look to wherever you put it.
Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer
This bronzer is super pigmented, and blends out beautifully! I find that this never gets muddy or looks like it is “too much”. It is more cool toned, and it gives the perfect bronzed glow, without being glowy. This bronzer it matte, but never ever leaves you looking flat or dull. Oh, and it smells like chocolate, so what’s not to love!!
NARS Blush in Orgasm
I would definitely have to say that I bought this product due to all of the hype surrounding it. This NARS blush is what would be considered a “cult favorite”. Despite its risque name, Orgasm by NARS definitely lived up to my expectations! It is a gorgeous pink with a bit of a golden sheen. Don’t be fooled though, it is not glittery. This blush gives a beautiful flush to the cheeks without being too over the top.
Stila Convertible Color in Peony
Cream blushes… they can be a bit daunting, right? With this perfectly peachy-nude, I use a fairly small and dense brush for the application, just pressing in a bit of the product, then I go in with a less dense brush to blend it out. Of course, this can all be done with your fingers in a pinch, but I find that I prefer using brushes. Also, the packaging the Stila Convertible Colors is absolutely GORGEOUS!
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid in Champagne Pop
I can’t say that I love this product. I REALLY, REALLY wanted to. However, with my skin type, it seems to just make me look especially oily. One way that I do like to apply it is on my shoulders and collarbone when I am going to be wearing a sleeveless dress.
Urban Decay De-Slick Setting Spray
This is another “eh” product. When sprayed over my makeup, it did absolutely nothing; I still got incredibly oily. I tried to use it as a primer water as well! That worked a lot better, by spraying it under my makeup I noticed that the oil coming through was definitely diminished.
Primer, Shadow, Liner, Palettes
Urban Decay Primer Potion Original
HOLY SMOKES!!! I have slightly hooded eyelids, and that mixed with oily skin makes for some very creased eyeshadow. I tried this product and ever since then, I have been using it every time I wear eyeshadow! I have gone as long as 11 hours without my shadow creasing when using this, and I am never going back!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette
This is the first ABH palette that I have tried, and it makes me want to try the rest of them! These shadows are buttery, and EXTREMELY pigmented! There is a bit of fall-out, but honestly that doesn’t bother me too much! The shades in this palette are absolutely perfect for everyday looks, with shades that you can use to extend the look to full glam!
Urban Decay Naked Smokey
This eyeshadow palette is great for those who enjoy smokey eyes (obviously). However, I prefer to use the shades to create softer, more wearable looks. These are not my favorite shades, as I prefer warmer tones. The quality of these shares are pretty great! Some of the shades can be a bit chalky, but they are also very buildable.
These shades are any orange/red/brown lover’s dream! A lot of these shadows are very very bright, but they are very blendable and can be softened down for a more subtle eye look. This is an incredibly pigmented palette and I have had a lot of fun with it!
Tinted Gel, Pencils
Benefit Gimme Brow (5)
This is a volumizing eyebrow gel, and I use the shade number 5. It is perfect for those no-makeup makeup days, when you just want a little tint for your brows. I also enjoy using it after I have structured my brows with the next product that I will be talking about.
Precisely, My Brow Pencil (4)
This pencil is great for filling in your brows! It has a retractable pencil on one end with a spoolie on the other end. The spoolie is a bit rough for me, so I only use it when I don’t have another one.
Mascara, Primer, Falsies
Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara
If you like your lashes to be super voluminous and long as well, then this mascara is for you! I use this on a daily basis, and nothing else compares to it. I am 100% obsessed with this mascara.
Lancome CILS Booster XL
This has a long and pretty confusing name, but it is a fantastic primer for your mascara. Not only is it a fabulous primer, but it also has vitamins in it to help boost lash growth (thus, the word Booster in the name).
Eyelure Lashes (wispy 117, wispy 152, naturals 031, accents 005, accents 003)
I have found that the Eyelure lashes are one of my absolute favorites. I enjoy using the naturals 031, and accents 005 for everyday looks, but I also love the wispy 117’s for more dramatic looks. The other two were good, but were not my favorites.
Ardell Magnetic Accents 001
I was so excited to try the new Ardell Magnetic Lashes. Let me tell you, they definitely are not worth the money. The magnets do not stick together very well, they were extremely hard to put on, and the magnets are also visible! Definitely do not recommend these at all.
Lancome Juicy Shakers (cherry symphony, mangoes wild, piece of cake)
Absolutely in LOVE with all of the shakers that Lancome has come out with! The Juicy Shakers are a mix of (I believe) 7 different oils with pigment in there, that you mix in when you shake them up! Cherry Symphony is a beautiful cherry red sheen on the lips, Mangoes Wild is more of an Orangey-red sheen but it can show up as pink, and Piece of Cake is a gorgeous nude.
Matte Shakers (Sea, Sand, and Sun)
The Matte Shakers are more of an intensely pigmented matte liquid lipstick. Now, don’t be fooled by the words “liquid lipstick”, this formula dries down to a beautiful, mostly transfer-proof, very comfortable matte liquid lipstick.
Morphe ‘Eye Slay’ brush Set
This ‘Eye Slay’ eye brush set from Morphe comes in a Bronze-Gold case with a zipper. It includes 6 brushes: a bent liner brush, a pencil crease brush, a flat concealer brush, an oval shadow brush, a crease fluff brush, and a deluxe blender brush. I needed some new eye brushes as mine were getting a bit old and to be honest, just needed to go. I enjoy and use the majority of these brushes, and at $18 for the whole set, you really can’t go wrong!
Real Techniques (blush, Expert Face)
Recently, I realized that I had no blush brush, so I stopped at my local ulta to pick one up. I ended up going for the Real Techniques Blush Brush. This is a pink metallic, very very fluffy brush. It is also tapered all the way around to assist with the perfect blush application. They also had a buy-one, get-one half off sale on all of their drugstore brushes, so I obviously had to pick another one up! I opted for the Expert Face brush. This is a metallic orange brush with short, dense hairs. I use it when applying cream bronzer or cream blush.
Cleanser, Moisturizers, Masks
GlamGlow Glowstarter in Nude Glow
This is a wonderful illuminating moisturizer that I got as a point perk from Sephora! It is only a deluxe sample size and I still have at least half of the tube left. During the winter months and the beginning of spring, I used this as my daily primer whether I was wearing makeup or not! Now that we have more of the warm summer weather, this makes my skin too oily. However, it is absolutely gorgeous so I would definitely snag a sample to give it a try!
Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask
This product is perfect for those with dry skin or dehydrated skin. Now, I have neither of those, but I loved using it during the season change from winter to spring! I just put on a light layer of this after cleansing at night before bed, and when I woke up in the morning my skin felt plump, super hydrated, and smooth too! I definitely recommend this!
First Aid Beauty Moisturizer
The First Aid Beauty Moisturizer was recommended to me by an employee at Ulta when I was looking for a good face cream for at night. I still use it just to finish it up, but I have noticed that it stings my eyes quite a bit if it gets anywhere near them. I have also noticed that if I get any of the moisturizer on my lips they go numb… I would definitely make sure to try a sample of this product to see how it reacts with your skin before purchasing the full size!
YSL Black Opium
Sexy would be the word that I use to describe this perfume. It is a phenomenal blend of black coffee, sweet vanilla, and alluring white florals that invigorates the senses. It lasts ALL DAY LONG as well. I have put this on at 6:00 in the morning, put in a whole day at school, gone to work for hours, and then when I get home at 9:00 at night I STILL get people telling me how great I smell. It’s always the best when your perfume lasts the entire day, right?
Tory Burch Love Relentlessly
This is another perfume love as of late. I just have the rollerball of this, which I keep in my purse. It is a very sweet perfume, with some musk and spice in the undertones. This is another one that wears beautifully and lasts for a long time! The key notes in this perfume are pink pepper, patchouli, rose, and amber. The story behind it is absolutely adorable! If you ever have the chance, look up what inspired this perfume!
