My Go-To Spring/Summer Skincare Routine for Oily Skin

Hello all, how have you been? I am so so sorry for the lack of posting lately, I went through a period of time where I wasn’t feeling well most of the time for about a month, school got super busy, and I actually went on a cruise! Anyway, I’m back now so get ready for tons of new, fun content!

I recently realized that my skincare routine has COMPLETELY changed for the spring and summertime. Where I live it has been really cold through most of April, but recently it has gotten warmed and warmer. Today the high was 73 degrees!

Now, with the weather change comes a definite need for a skincare and makeup change. My skincare routine has been incredibly simplified and my skin has been loving me for it:) I thought I would share my spring/summer skincare routine with everyone, so here it is!

I recently rediscovered the Purity Made Simple Cleanser by Philosophy. This cleanser smells good, feels SOO gentle, and it just leaves my skin feeling amazing! This cleanser really leaves the face feeling so clean and fresh without leaving it feeling dry or squeaky clean. I have extremely oily skin and it works amazingly for me, but I have also heard that those with dry and normal skin love it as well.

The toner I use for the spring and summer time is the same as I did during the winter. I use the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater. This toner/facial spray boosts hydration and radiance WITHOUT MAKING YOUR SKIN LOOK OILY. Use this after cleansing and before moisturizing, or just spray it on throughout the day for a quick pick-me-up.

I received this product as part of the FabFitFun Spring 2018 box. I ran out of my usual moisturizer that I had been using, so I thought I would give this one a try. Let me tell you, I am 100% obsessed. This Murad Skin Perfecting Lotion is the perfect moisturizer for just the right amount of hydration. It quenches your skin without adding so much hydration that you look oily. One of the best parts about this moisturizer is that it has zero fragrance, no sulfates, no dyes, and it is cruelty free!

As per the usual, I have been using my Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion. I believe this product has new packaging, but I have the older version. This exfoliator makes my face feel so so soft, it really helps to get the dead skin off and bring my skin back to life! I use this approximately twice a week and it makes my skin feel wonderful!

Eye Gel

Now, I do not use a an eye gel or cream every day. Yes, this is almost completely just because I am crazy lazy… But, what can you do? I have used quite a few eye gels and creams that have done absolutely nothing for me. They make my under eye concealer crease, and they just leave me feeling oily. HOWEVER, this Mario Badescu Ceramide Eye Gel really just refreshes my under eyes and feels so great.

This one is a new find for me as well, but I have been using it for weeks and I am seriously in LOVE. The Origins Drink Up-Intensive Overnight Mask to Quench Skin’s Thirst is absolutely amazing. I use this mask once or twice a week instead of a moisturizer and I wear it to bed. I apply it all over my face and on my neck/decolletage, and when I wake up my skin feels so so hydrated, it does not get so oily during the day, and overall my skin looks so happy:)

So, those are all of the products that I have been using lately in my Spring/Summer skincare routine. I hope you all enjoyed and will find this helpful!!

Thank you so much for reading. Next post is going to be my Bullet Journal Set-Up for May, comment below if you are excited! See you all in my next post and have an amazing rest of your day.
